En-Route Driver Information provides drivers information pertaining to traffic conditions, incidents, construction, transit schedules, weather conditions, hazardous road conditions, and recommended safe speeds while en-route.  This information allows the drivers to select the route which is best for them, or change routes mid-travel. Information can be provided while en-route by variable message signs, commercial radio, highway advisory radio, personal communication devices (pagers, cellular telephones) or in-vehicle navigational systems.
