Notable CCIT Staffers and the World Congress:

  • CCIT director, Hamed Benouar, is a member of the San Francisco Organizing Committee (SFOC), ensuring the local support of the World Congress.  Benouar is very active on the committee working with the state legislature to ensure their support and participation.  He was able to work with Harry Voccola, Chair of the SFOC and Senator Torlakson and staff to secure a resolution from the senate in support of the ITS World Congress.  Benouar serves on the local arrangement committee guiding the development and organization of technical tours and serves on the overall conference program committee.  Benouar is the only SFOC member from the University of California.  Other California members on the committee include Randy Iwasaki, Chief Deputy Director of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Ann Flemer, Deputy Director of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
  • Benouar is Chairman of the Board of Directors for CAATS/ITSCA.  CCIT provides vital support to CAATS/ITSCA, and has especially stepped up to assist in their activities at the World Congress.
  • Margulici also leads a team of CCIT staff in collaborating with PATH and other partners through the management tasks associated with the installation, testing and maintenance of the wireless technologies required for demonstrations at the World Congress.
  • The entire CCIT staff is providing coordination and volunteer services for the World Congress.

CCIT and special events at the World Congress:
